The above award winners were announced at the 2008 CSSA President's Awards Banquet held at Montecasino on Wednesday 05 November 2008. The event was well attended by numerous senior players in the South African ICT industry.
The IT Personality of the Year Award, made in association with ITWeb, GIBS and Gartner Africa is 30 Years old this year, underscoring a proud tradition of acknowledging excellent performance in the ICT sector. The ICT Visionary Award, made in association with ITWeb, is a new award this year, as is the IT Leading Employer Award, made in association with TalentAlign IT.
In addition to Prof. Judith Bishop, who became a Fellow of the Society by winning the CSSA Computing / SA Fellowship Award, CSSA also acknowledged another 'one of it's own' by honouring Royden Wolhuter (previously Eastern Cape Chapter Chair) as a Fellow of the Society.
